Many on the Westside consider some of our amazing local Universities. One is LMU which is located in the Westchester community. At the edge of Loyola Marymount University’s bluff-top campus sits a new $63 million library with panoramic views from Los Angeles to Playa del Rey. Billed as the school’s “intellectual hub” – with the latest technology and group study rooms that can be reserved via the Internet – the library has won LMU bragging rights since opening its sleek library last August., But other buildings on the scenic 142-acre campus – many of which were constructed from the 1950s to 1970s – don’t compare. And that’s the reason for the private Catholic school’s 20-year master plan, officials say – to provide a blueprint for future development projects that will help LMU attract and retain top faculty and students. Here are more details thanks to the Contra Costa Times.
