Fitness Tips From Christine Kwok

This is the third of 6 tips Christine has given us to share with you. Check back each Monday to read them all.

Tip Number Three: Drink more water. A well hydrated body equates to healthier metabolism, joint function, and mental acuity. It also helps to prevent cramping while working out and promotes faster workout recovery. If you drink soda, replace at least one of those glasses/cans/bottles with a glass of water. Avoid drinking more than 2 cups of coffee per day (some scientific research has shown benefits to one cup of coffee per day; more than two, and the negatives outweigh the positives), as it can dehydrate you and make you less alert. Promote more water intake by adding soda water to your fruit juice (reduces the calories and sugar intake by at least 50% when you do a 1:1—water:juice cocktail) or cutting slices of fruit into a pitcher of water and saving it in the fridge. You’ll have spa water for the next couple of days.
