Underage drinking has been a dangerous issue for decades, but it also has proven to be expensive costing the state more than $8 billion. The American Academy of Pediatrics California is hosting a community event to discuss underage drinking and social hosting on Tuesday, April 6 at 7 p.m. at the Santa Monica Public Library. The “Social Hosting – At What Cost?” event will feature local experts on law and adolescent psychiatry, as well as a panel discussion.
This event is in coordination with Alcohol Awareness Month and Nancy Ayers from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration is heading up a campaign that focuses on educating parents about underage drinking.
