Police were looking Monday for a burglary suspect they say used rope to drop onto a balcony at a high-rise apartment building in Marina del Rey and demand entry to a woman’s residence. Police were trying to get a surveillance video Monday and would likely release it to the public to help identify the suspect.

Nigama, a local artist, is seeking donations to maintain the Ballona Creek Trioliths, an art installation of hundreds of stacked rocks. The project started in May 2010, and Nigama hopes to film a documentary to capture the the 3-stone figures that have "transformed an unremarkable urban creekside into a magical landscape," according to Nigama. He is hoping to raise $14,000 by April 23.

An independent report says Southern California Edison could have shaved a day off the time it needed to restore power after last year's windstorm that left 400,000 people in the dark. The seven-and-a-half days it took to get electricity flowing could have been cut by a day or even two through policy changes that include better planning and damage assessment.

The Equinox under construction in Marina del Rey has been delayed several times this year, but reps say the space will open to the public on the morning of April 16. In addition to EarthBar's signature bottled juice line, made-to-order juice bar, and smoothies and power shots, the new Marina del Rey location will also offer recommendations on juices to complement specific classes or workouts.
Disturbing New Report Finds Large Nuclear Risk At San Onofre

A new report claims that Southern California Edison misled federal regulators about equipment and design changes at the San Onofre nuclear power plant that are the likely cause of extensive wear on tubing that carries radioactive water. A series of untested equipment and design changes to the massive generators "created a large risk of tube failure at the San Onofre reactors," the report concluded. Following a radiation leak in January, tests found that seven tubes that carry radioactive water from the reactor were in danger of rupturing under high pressure in Unit 3.

The Argonaut newspaper announced Thursday that it has been sold to Southland Publishing, Inc. The local weekly newspaper claims an audited print circulation of 30,000. Launched in 1971 as the Marina del Rey Argonaut, the paper expanded its coverage to include Playa del Rey, Venice, Santa Monica, Westchester, Los Angeles International Airport, as well as the adjacent neighborhoods of Playa Vista and Mar Vista.
