Residents of Venice are beginning to clean up their homes and streets after a massive noon water main break Friday. Firefighters were sent to the 200 block of Carrol Court Walk after receiving reports of flooding in the area. Officials said a six-inch main broke flooding streets and homes with thousands of gallons of water. Some residents remain without water.

A 19th century replica tall ship will be arriving in Marina del Rey on Tuesday in anticipation of the Marina Fest on May 19 and 20. The “Bill of Rights” resembles an 1856 gaff topsail schooner, and was built in South Bristol, Maine by Harvey F. Gamage in 1971. It is the first tall ship in six years to sail through Marina del Rey. On May 17 and 18, the tall ship will take youth organizations on educational sailing outings, and then will take visitors on sunset sails and deck tours on the festival weekend.

The worst-kept secret at Gold’s Gym in Venice Beach is that the gym is closing its doors for good when its lease expires on June 30, 2014. With its 45 years of history, this Los Angeles landmark was once the second most popular tourist attraction in the LA area after Disneyland. A few weeks ago, plans for a massive 200 foot ferris wheel on Ocean Front Walk in Venice ground to a halt, with talk of a zipline along the Boardwalk taking their place. Zipline company Greenheart is proposing to build a 750 foot "FlightLinez attraction" extending the length of Venice Beach Park, roughly from the skate park in the north to the basketball courts to the south.
