The City of Los Angeles presents its second annual Forum on Climate Change on Monday, April 23, 2012 from 9am – 2pm at the Japanese American National Museum located at 369 East 1st Street. Experts will weigh in on science, collaboration, policy, and case studies on the City’s efforts to mitigate and adapt to climate change. City Council staff members, neighborhood councils, educators and all interested stakeholders are invited to participate.

The department plans to sign up to 20-year contracts with a mix of residential and commercial solar power providers as part of a pilot project that will generate 10 megawatts of electricity.

Launched in 1971 as the Marina del Rey Argonaut, the paper expanded its coverage to include Playa del Rey, Venice, Santa Monica, Westchester, Los Angeles International Airport, as well as the adjacent neighborhoods of Playa Vista and Mar Vista.
