Donald Trump’s most senior advisor has admitted the White house isn’t trying to control the coronavirus pandemic, because he says it can’t be done.

With more than 8.5 millions infections reported across the US, nearly 225,000 deaths, and daily case records being broken almost every day, it looks a bit grim.
