Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson faced questions for a second day from the Senate Judiciary Committee weighing her candidacy for the high court. John Cornyn, a Republican senator, asked Brown Jackson about remarks she had made in a previous legal brief that referred to President George W. Bush as well as Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld “war criminals.” The statement was made as part of a legal brief she gave in defense of a Taliban member while she was federal public defender. Later, Senator Dick Durbin clarified that Brown Jackson didn’t call them “war criminals”, but that their offices were accused of war crimes.
