US States fight back Trump's national emergency plans | DW News thumbnail

On Monday a coalition of 16 US states led by California filed a lawsuit over President Trump’s use of emergency powers. Trump declared a national emergency in an attempt to free up billions of dollars to construct a wall along the border with Mexico. If the courts side with the states, legal scholars say the argument to impeach the president will be as strong and clear as ever.
